Finally getting around to recapping Halloween! It was nice and chilly this year - it reminded me of trick-or-treating in South Dakota as a kid - so we weren't out too long but the girls still managed to get buckets full of candy.
My parents were in town so they stayed back at the house with Baker and handed out candy to the kiddos that stopped by. Our very own Waldo had a great first Halloween, napping away in the swing...
We carved pumpkins on Monday night and for some reason, I thought it'd be fun to use a stencil to carve an elaborate scene complete with Disney princesses. Two hours later, the girls had lost all interest and it only kinda sorta looked like the picture in the end. Justin is also slightly allergic to pumpkin so he was super thrilled with me and his itchy arms... ha!
Gracyn had a little party at school on Tuesday morning so I snuck away for a bit to hang out with her. We played Black Cat Bingo and they ate sugar cookies and candy corn at 10:30 am. It's always fun to see her interact with her little classmates.
Oh, Baker! Gah, he's so cute. He was a good sport, too. The girls helped me gather some stuffed animals to set up our very own Where's Waldo scene. I can't get enough of these pictures and his little smirk!
When it was time to actually get dressed in their costumes, Leighton suddenly had no interest in Halloween and refused to eat dinner and change her clothes. She's at a super fun age...
We finally convinced her to get dressed but she was less than cooperative when I wanted to snag some pictures!
She perked up a bit once we went outside and she saw all of the other kiddos in costume ready to roll. We made it to a handful of houses before making our way back home to warm up a bit. The girls were sleep-deprived and high on sugar the next day which made for some emotional times - Thursday wasn't much better - so I'm hoping we get back on track today!
The girls' Halloween costumes through the years! Enough with the growing up, okay?!?!
Hope you all had a happy Halloween! Now bring on the Christmas music! #sorryThanksgiving
Oh my, the personalities comes shining thru! Love the pics!
ReplyDeleteBaker's Halloween costume is just perfection and your oldest looks legit 16 with that eyeliner on! Hope your hubs got over his allergic reaction and for the record, I thought your carvings looked great!
