Christmas in Kansas City

We had a very busy weekend full of all things friends, family and Christmas. And I'm exhausted. We went over to a neighbor's house on Friday night for a little get together with our new friends in the neighborhood. We seriously lucked out. We've met some of the nicest people in our little 'hood and we couldn't be more excited to get to know them better. The kids played, the adults drank festive cocktails and everyone had a great time.

I took Gracyn to the mall with me on Saturday morning to get a little more Christmas shopping done. The place was a madhouse but we managed to check a few items off our list. We headed down to Crown Center on Saturday afternoon with some of the other gals from Kansas City Moms Blog and their families to do the Downtown Dazzle tour. Crown Center during the holidays is my absolute favorite because everything is lit up and festive. We stopped by Union Station, took the streetcar to Power & Light - where the girls made sure they stayed at least 50 feet away from Santa Claus at all times, grabbed a cookie from MeMa's Bakery and headed back to Crown Center to play for a bit before heading home.

Everyone was basically melting down by the time we left but we still had a good time! We attempted to sleep in on Sunday before meeting up with my cousin and her family for Charlotte's 2nd birthday party. A little swimming, food, cake & ice cream and, of course, presents made for a nice little evening. It's 10:45 on Monday morning and Leighton is still sleeping and G and I are in our pajamas so I can't complain!

A few snaps from Saturday night..

I didn't think to start taking some videos until halfway through our evening on Saturday but I threw together a little montage. Forgive my shaky hand and video! I try to make up for it by setting it to one of my all-item favorite Christmas songs. You can't go wrong with Amy Grant, am I right!?
