...like a rainbow.

Oh, Gracyn. This girl of ours is really something else, I tell you what. The older she gets, the more fun I have watching and listening to her. She sings more than she talks these days - always busting out into a made-up song as she plays with her toys. She'll dance around and ask make us to join in by holding our hands or cupping our face and singing really close. Songs carry over to bedtime and we have to sing 4 particular songs before she'll go to sleep...
Wheels on the Bus
Twinkle, Twinkle
Mary Had a Little Lamb
Baa Baa Black Sheep
She will cut you if you forget to sing one of them and you best not get them out of order or you'll have to start all over. Most of the time she wants to sing them while laying in bed. And then again at the door before you leave the room. And if she wakes up in the middle of the night, really the only thing that will help her get back to sleep is if you sing the same damn songs again.

I mean, really. We've come to actually hate these songs.

In an attempt to keep his sanity one night, Justin offered to sing a new song in hopes of mixing up the bedtime routine a little bit. The one he could think of off the top of his head was True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. Totally random, but hey, it was something different!

Turns out, Gracyn is OBSESSED with that song. She requests to watch the {very weird} music video from the 80s every night before bed; in a close second is Phil Collins' rendition from the mid-1990s which is equally weird but I suppose there are worse things she could be watching on YouTube, right?

Anyway, the other night during dinner, girlfriend started singing mid-bite and I whipped out my phone in time to catch the end of her performance. I posted it on the 'gram (duh) but wanted it here too. Must {over}share on all social media platforms! ;)

And if you think introducing True Colors got us off the hook for singing the other 4 songs, you'd be wrong. All we've really done is feed the monster since now we're required to sing all FIVE songs before bed. And at the door. And in the middle of the night.
